After a very successful cyclocross season Fort Collins' Amanda Miller has her eye on a top 10 finish at CX Worlds in Bieles Luxembourg on Saturday. The Boulder CycleSport/YogaGlo rider finished 2nd at CX Nationals, only bested by 13 time champion, Katie Compton. She was 7th in World Cup rankings and sits 12th in the UCI standings after 28 starts. One additional race and Miller likely would have finished in the top 5 in the World Cup.  She skipped Zeven, Fiuggi Regione Lazio and Koksidje, was canceled.

Miller will be among 7 other Americans and the only Fort Collins resident to take on the best in the sport. Despite a Collegiate Varsity National Championship and a 4th place in the U23 Championship race our own Brannan Fix was not selected for Worlds this year.

She has yet to commit to a road or cyclocross program for 2017 but hopes to build on this season's success with potentially longer stints in Europe and more higher level racing. Her off season starts after Worlds, will last about a month and will include 2 weeks of nothing and easing back into it with snowshoeing and running before she gets back on the bike.

Miller will race at 7am mountain time Saturday January 28th. I'll do my best to update the Your Group Ride Facebook page with viewing options and real time race updates.
