IMPORTANT ACTION ALERT (Meeting tonight):
Via Overland Mountain Bike Association:
Larimer County Seeking Public Input on Future of Horsetooth Mountain Open Space
Larimer County Natural Resources is in the process of updating the Horsetooth Mountain Open Space Management Plan. The property has recently expanded to nearly 3,300 total acres. It contains a mix of natural-surface trails and gravel service roads totaling 29 miles. The last management plan for this property was completed in 2007. A LOT has changed since then and your input is critical to seeing that this plan is updated to accurately meet present-day recreation usage and demands.
There are several ways to participate, including an online survey, an August 9th public meeting & a project map. (link below) Be sure to check out all 3...the online survey, the project map with commenting options, and details for the public meeting on August 9th, 6-8pm (hosted via Zoom). Please be thorough & specific in your comments!
If you ride a mountain bike in Larimer County, regardless of whether or not you choose to ride in Horsetooth specifically, you need to participate in as many of these current plan opportunities as possible! The information and feedback received from this survey data will be used to help formulate the new management plan. This is our best opportunity to collectively express what the community actually wants to see.
Overland Mountain Bike Association's Proposals:
OMBA submitted a collection of proposal ideas to Larimer County in February of this year. (link below) Feel free to reference any of these that you agree with. Be specific with your comments. Numbers matter. Our community needs you to provide input!
