bite the bullet logoRace organizers have announced the courses for the inaugural Bite the Bullet Gran Fondo pb Spex Vision Care on August 27th. The long course is just shy of 98 miles with 4180 feet of climbing and plenty of gravel and includes the ever popular Park Creek Reservoir Climb at the NW corner of the route. The short course is 53 miles long and has 2087 feet of climbing.  Zack Allison and Jake Arnold are going to great lengths to make this one of the best dollar for dollar ride experiances in the country.

Zack Allison and Jake Arnold have cooked up two great courses for the inaugural Bite the Bullet Gran Fondo pb Spex Vision Care on August 27th. Racers will have the choice to tackle either a 65 mile or 100 mile course that will take them on some of the best gravel roads North and East of Fort Collins. The courses will have 3 well stocked aid stations and roving wheel/technical support. Brave new wheel is hosting the packet pickup party the night before. New Belgium is hosting the start/finish with an expo area where each racers gets a beer token and 2 free food truck items. Akinz designed and printed shirts are available during registration for $12.

Registration is LIVE, long route fee $55 for June, $60 for July, $70 for August, $10 cheaper for short route, so get registered asap!

Long Route- 100 miles- Fun starts at 7:00 AM. Reg starts at $55 and goes up every month until the event. Payout, cash and product  5 deep, men and women. Results based on specific Strava segment, not the whole fondo. 300 Field Limit. 

Short Route- 65 miles- Fun starts at 7:00 AM. Reg starts at $45 and goes up every month until the event. Payout, cash and product  5 deep, men and women. Results based on specific Strava segment, not the whole fondo. 300 Field Limit. 

Maps

Although the specific routes have yet to be officially released, the rides will start at New Belgium and head East out of Fort Collins, North to Carr, back West to the Red Mountain/Soapstone area and and back South to the finish at New Belgium. The 100 mile route will have close to 4k feet of climbing. There will be 3 well stocked aid stations and a wheel support/sweep.
