City Streets Cirts Updates

Some fairly substantial changes are taking place for this year’s City Streets Criterium series. Races will now take place on Thursdays in June. They will require online payment, and there is a cash payout for all categories in an omnium format. Thanks to FCCT for hosting and to First City Mortgage, Elevations Real Estate, and Trek Bicycles for sponsoring the event.

FoCo Fondo adds Bike and Outdoor Lifestyle Expo

The FoCo Fondo is adding a Bike and Outdoor Lifestyle Expo to its already jam-packed weekend of festivities.  The Expo will happen on Saturday, July 20th, and the Fondo will take place the following day.  According to an April 10th press release, "Attendees will have the opportunity to try out a variety of demo bikes from gravel, MTB, e-bike, and adaptive bikes, on a closed demo course on New Belgium property. Additionally, brands from a variety of cycling and Colorado outdoor culture will be in attendance."

Larimer County Transportation Funding Survey

Larimer County wants to hear your opinions about transportation and potential funding options. They are considering a ballot measure to add a 0.15% or 0.25% sales tax (15 or 25 cents on a $100 purchase) and dedicate the funds to transportation. Please review the data below (much more on the website) and take the survey (there are several questions regarding cycling and pedestrian safety and infrastructure).

FtC Strategic Trails Plan Update

The city of Fort Collins is updating its Strategic Trails Plan (paved paths) for the first time since 2013, and the parks, planning, and development department would like to hear from you.

Team Rio Grande Enters Its 25th Year

As Team Rio Grande Racing enters its 25th year, the Elite team plans to expand its already impressive palmers. This year the team will race a heavy early and late season calendar with a midseason break. The team also welcomes two new riders to its 11-rider roster.

New Poudre River Coffee Cart

There's a new coffee cart in Poudre Canyon. The Kind Bean coffee cart opened on March 23rd in Poudre Park. The converted Airstream is 10 miles up the canyon from Ted's Place, 1.5 miles East of the Grey Rock trailhead, and would make a great stop during the Poudre/Masonville loop or before/after a session on Hewlett Gulch.

IN THE DIRT is a documentary film about a group of passionate Native American cyclists who attempt to bring the sport of mountain biking to the Navajo Nation, where no bike shops exist.

OMBA Hires Membership Outreach & Coordinator & Trail Manager

Overland Mountain Bike Association recently filled two positions within the nonprofit. Dieter Long will take over as the Membership Outreach & Coordinator, filling the vacancy left when Samantha Boon left to work as the Marketing Coordinator at Niner Bicycles. Taylor Young relocated to Fort Collins from Bentonville, Arkansas, to lead the newly developed Trail Operations Manager position.

YGR Time Trial Series PB Cafe Vino

We're just shy of a month out from the first YGR Time Trial of the year! Head over to YGR for full details on dates, routes, categories, cost and whatnot but here are the high points: The YGR Time Trials have been happening on generally the same courses just outside Fort Collins, CO, on Tuesday nights since 2009.

CSU Race Weekend 2024

The legendary CSU races are coming up at the end of April. The CSU Rams Cycling team will host the Oval Criterium and the Cobb Lake Road Race on April 20th and 21st, respectively. Collegiate and USAC categories available.

Frostbite Time Trial 2024

The Frostbite Time Trial is hosted by Team Rio Grande Racing and historically launches the Colorado road racing calendar each year. This year the race takes place on March 16th. The course heads South and then North on the I25 frontage road for 11.4 miles near the Buckeye Power Plant exit. As the name implies, it's usually cold and as the photo shows, it's usually windy.

Bike to School Day 2024

Bike to School Day 2024 will take place on Wednesday, May 8th. Contact your school (probably the gym teacher) to see if your school is participating. If they're not, see what you can do to make it happen.
