The 411: A beginner-friendly, social group ride. Perfect for newer riders looking to get comfortable riding in a pack, or for experienced riders who want a casual recovery day. every , May to October.
The start: Lee's Cyclery, 202 W. Laurel St.
The route: Varies, typically about 20-25 miles, flat to rolling terrain. Route will be posted on the Lee's Cyclery Facebook page each week.
The RioBase mile ride will be starting back up on Sun January 8th at 10am. Team Rio Grande Racing will be working to revive the ride this season. It will be an easier 2-3 hour ride as a complement to, or an alternative to, the faster Saturday rides (Oval or SOR).
Updated 02/15/2017 dp
It leaves at 11:12a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. There are a handful of different routes we ride, South and East through Windsor, and then North on 257, or South around the Walmart Dist. center (famously called the Wally ride). Other times we head north through Timnath and around the Bud plant, or up Vine.
It is a fast ride with usually a decent warm-up before things get amped up...but when they do, you best hang on for dear life. It's a friendly ride, but everyone that shows up knows that it's a full-drop ride, no waiting.
06/15/2015 Due to liability concerns, as of Saturday June 13th, both the SOR (Saturday Open Ride), and the WOR (Wednesday Open Ride) will be leaving from the Harmony Library - Front Range County College parking lot. Both rides had been leaving from ProVelo bicycles on South Mason.
The Harmony Library is on the West end of the building complex that makes up FRCC campus located at 4616 S Shields St, Fort Collins, CO 80526. Riders will be meeting at the South end of the library parking lot area.
The Oval light has been forming up already this season. Same route but base mile pace w/ regroups if things *accidentally* get ramped up on the climbs. Should be game on by Saturday Jan 7th.
