Tomorrow's New Belgium Brewing short track races have been canceled. The course is a swamp. Please spread the word.
The New Belgium Short Track races hosted by the Ciclismo Youth Foundation got underway last night with dry trails, clear skies and warm temps. Over 150 adult racers and 50 plus kids took to the newly revamped NBBST course. This year's course was made considerably more technical by ditching the entire gravel road section on the backside and adding more grass and tight turns. The Corndoggies Food Truck and the New Belgium Beer Garden worked through the evening to serve the record crowd of racers and spectators.

I hate to be the bad news messenger, but the CYF Board of Directors have decided to cancel this evening's race. Although the course may be in pretty good shape, the venue (start/finish, registration, food, etc.) is a complete mess and would be thrashed if we allowed a race to continue...let alone bathrooms to be delivered and a large food truck to arrive. The dirt parking lot we use is also of concern. Our main priority is to respect New Belgium's generosity allowing us to use their property. This makes today's decision a pretty easy one.
As for your registration....I'm going to move all of you to next week's race. If for some reason you're not going to be able to make it, I can move you to a later race or refund your entry fee. Please shoot me an email and let me know if your preference is anything other than me moving you to next week. Shoot an email if you have questions about anything.
