Today should have been Ian Dickinson’s 69th birthday. As you know, Ian was tragically killed on April 27, 2025, in a collision with a motorcyclist while riding his bike west of Horsetooth Mountain Open Space. To honor his life, passion for cycling, and love of music, Ian’s family has submitted a 10 Tracks playlist in his honor.

Ian was, as his family describes him, a “roadie to the bone.” Whether aboard his Canyon Ultimate CF SL or the circa-1980 semi-custom Raleigh time trial frame his wife bought him as a wedding gift, he loved to ride. His basement setup was a cyclist’s haven—Wahoo Kickr, record player, cassette deck, and a few gigabytes of CDs ripped onto an old laptop..

Born in Nottingham, England, Ian spent 24 years in Fort Collins after relocating from the San Francisco Bay Area for a new position with Hewlett Packard, where he worked until retiring in 2020.

Below, you’ll find 10 tracks that his family selected in remembrance.

New Belgium Brewing

Fort Collins cycling and New Belgium Brewing go hand in hand. The idea for the iconic Fat Tire brand was born during a bike trip through Belgium in 1988.
