This weeks 10 Tracks DJ is Alan Schenkel one of our more active Fort Collins Cyclists. Alan rides on the Peloton Specialized cycling team, is the faculty adviser for the CSU Cycling team and is the race director for the Tooth or Consequences MTB race and festival, among other things. Alan has been a vocal proponent for local cycling for along time.  Alan listen’s to these when he’s hammering on the trainer or getting ready on race day. 

Favorite Bike: My very customized Specialized Rockhopper though the Citrus Niner Jet 9 is my primary race bike. Hard to choose.
Favorite Ride: Soapstone/Red Mountain Cheyenne Rim descent or Left Hand Canyon

Howling Cow Cafe opened on July 1st, 2014, adjacent to Morning Fresh Dairy Farm hq, almost exactly a year after the Bellvue Bean closed down. That was a tough year for cyclists who were used to a mid-ride coffee break while doing the Dairy Loop. Lori and Robert Graves, the owners of Morning Fresh, managed to fill the void left by the Bean and then some.
