Don Haywood has been active in the Fort Collins cycling scene for as long as there has been one. He recently retired as the long-time race director for the Frostbite Time Trial which is generally the first race on the BRAC calendar.  The 70-year old still races USAC and grassroots road and cyclocross on a regular basis. Don’s favorite bike was a Giant TCR and has been replaced with a Fuji Transonic that has the same angles and specs and is made by Giant. You can always pick Don’s bike out by the distinctive drop of his brake hoods. His favorite ride is the quick and varied Glade Road Loop starting from Harmony. Don is retired but stays busy backpacking, snowboarding and as the sound guy for his wife’s band (also Reno Toffoli’s band), The Absolutes. He also plays the Trombone.

Don listens to his 10 Tracks on the rollers, in spin class when the instructor is taking requests and in the car.

He's a longtime member of the Northern Colorado…
