Samantha Welter, a recent Fort Collins Transplant from Rolla, Missouri and founding member/manager of the Sugar Beets cycling team, joins us on 10 Tracks this week. Sam is the owner of Empower Performance Therapy working out of Source Endurance Training Center of the Rockies. As an athletic trainer she works to work to prevent, evaluate, and rehab sport related injuries in endurance athletes. These beets (see what I did there?) creep into her head while she’s racing the MTB.

My favorite ride? put me on dirt ribbons and I’m mad happy. Descending the Hall rock garden or powering over slanty slabs at Devil’s Backbone are some of my local faves.

Howling Cow Cafe opened on July 1st, 2014, adjacent to Morning Fresh Dairy Farm hq, almost exactly a year after the Bellvue Bean closed down. That was a tough year for cyclists who were used to a mid-ride coffee break while doing the Dairy Loop. Lori and Robert Graves, the owners of Morning Fresh, managed to fill the void left by the Bean and then some.
