The Phoenix Cyclery/Orbea is pleased to announce the return of the team for its third straight year as the only dedicated U23 race team in Fort Collins committed to focusing on the development of local Northern Colorado Junior and Under 23 talents, to help them reach the next step in cycling, as well as learn the value of community and hard work as they move forward in life. The Phoenix Cyclery of Fort Collins returns as the title sponsor, while Orbea Bicycles of Spain continues to support the success of U23 cycling in Northern Colorado.
During the 2016 season, the team garnered huge success by netting 9 wins, including the Colorado Junior State Championship Road Race, and 22 podiums between our eleven riders over the course of the season, none of which would be possible without our sponsors. Returning sponsors for 2017 include Flow Fire Protection Inc., Four Seasons Veterinary Specialists, Coopersmith’s Pub and Brewing, and Honey Stinger, alongside two new sponsors Mawson Lumber and Hardware, and Dohn Construction who have signed on for the season and we are incredibly excited and grateful for their support of U23 development in Fort Collins.
The Team Owner of The Phoenix Cyclery/Orbea is Rick Woy, owner of The Phoenix Cyclery. Under the guidance of Rick Woy, Team Manager Brannan Fix will continue run the day to day operations of the team, and provide guidance for the younger riders along with the other veteran riders throughout the season. Brannan Fix is joined on the team roster by nine other riders ranging from the 15-16 age category, to the U23 category. With the eight core members of the team returning for 2017, the team adds two new 17-18 junior riders for the season and will look to once again impress in the Colorado junior scene, and expose our riders to several national level events throughout the season.
