2026 FoCo Fondo Recap

How’s everyone feeling after yet another epic FoCO Fondo weekend? It was a pretty unique race day for me as I opted to ride the 30-miler with my 10- and 12-year-olds in the AM and drive the course, checking on people during the late afternoon heat.  Surprisingly, I only picked up one person at an aid station, although there were a lot of people doing the whole pedal-pedal-coast maneuver (or PPC as I like to call it) that we’re all too familiar with.

I know there were countless impressive feats throughout the day, but I wanted to give a few shoutouts I witnessed in person or saw while scrolling through results.- 15-year-old Ben Zukowski for going 8th in the 100 miler overall, 11-year-old Hazel Jones for going 3rd in the 30 miler- U18, Maas van de Graaf for taking the 60 overall AND sticking around to help with tear down when it was 97 degrees out. Janna Dickerson crossed the finish line for the 11th time, continuing her streak as the only person to finish every single Fondo. She’s completed the long course in each edition except two. I also gotta give a shoutout to YGR advertiser and Fondo Sponsor Shawn Small with Adapt Sports Therapy for taking 13th in the 118-mile Elite Quadruple Dare You route.

Just 4.72% of riders who started this year’s FoCo Fondo didn’t finish, despite temperatures climbing into the 90s throughout the day. Of the 1,461 riders who rolled off the start line, only 69 recorded a DNF. The event also saw a healthy turnout, with 1,461 of the 1,702 registered riders lining up. The 14.2% no-start rate falls right in the middle of the event’s historical registered but non-starter range of 10% to 20%.

Huge thanks to Whitney and Zack Allison, their team, all the volunteers, vendors, ambassadors, and riders who helped make this 3-day event such a success.
