This week’s YGR 10 Tracks features Lora Lowe, who has been active in youth cycling in Northern Colorado through SendTown and the Ciclismo High School program since 2008.
Lora Lowe has called Northern Colorado home since 2008, first in Fort Collins and now in Loveland. She is the Program Manager for our local high school cycling programs and has supported youth cycling in some capacity since her son Nate was a freshman. Nate is now a senior. Ciclismo’s Andy Clark affectionately refers to her as the team’s Super Mom.
In addition to her work with SendTown and Ciclismo Racing, Lora works as an independent contractor for Peraton and has been in the background investigations industry since 2011.
She is an army brat who was born in Pensacola, Florida, and lived in Northern Florida before moving to Japan at age six. She has also lived in North Carolina, Georgia, Texas, and Germany. Prior to moving to Colorado, she spent five years in Austin. It was Austin’s live music scene, and her first ACL Fest, that shifted how she connected with music. She does not describe having a specific taste. If it makes her feel something, she is in.
On the bike, Lora prefers flowy mountain bike rides and would like to do more gravel riding. She is not much of a risk taker on bikes, she leaves that to her four boys (three kids and one husband). She especially enjoys riding in Steamboat with her boys, who take it easy on her. When she is not riding, she is often running. Coffee is black, mostly for the caffeine, ideally from a good french press.
She listens to her music while running, riding, cleaning, driving, pretty much whenever.
We’ll feature her son, Nate, next week.
Her 10 Tracks are below.
