Friends of FoCo Fondo will host its first annual Slipstream Awards + Gala on November 13th in The Agave Room at The Rio in Fort Collins.
The event is the organization’s biggest fundraiser of the year and will celebrate a full season of scholarships, clinics and events while recognizing people and organizations helping create momentum and opportunity through cycling.
The evening begins at 6 p.m. with live music, a drinks reception and silent auction. The Organ Trail Band will provide the music during the reception.
Dinner from Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant will be served at 7 p.m., followed by the awards program at 8 p.m. The evening’s paddle raise and live auction begin at 9 p.m., with the program scheduled to end at 9:30 p.m. One of the featured live auction items is a set of ENVE AR40 wheels.
The Slipstream Awards include four categories:
Momentum Award: Recognizes someone creating lasting forward movement in the cycling community.
Paceline Award: Recognizes a volunteer, mentor or coach who consistently supports and uplifts others.
Bridge Award: Recognizes a partner organization providing pathways and reducing barriers in cycling.
Breakaway Award: Recognizes a rider demonstrating courage, growth or leadership through cycling.
Nominations opened September 1st and must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. October 1st. Each award recipient will receive two tickets to the event.
Tickets for the gala are available through Friends of FoCo Fondo. Auction bidding opens November 1st, with additional auction items and bidding information to be announced closer to the event.
Friends of FoCo Fondo is also offering sponsorship opportunities for the event. The organization is a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and sponsorships help support its programs, scholarships and community initiatives.
The Agave Room is located upstairs and is accessible by stairs. A chair lift is available for guests who need assistance.
