This week we’re checking in with the Matador Elite Masters to see what they’re up to for 2020. Read their press release below.

Matador Elite Masters Cycling (formerly, Remote Geo) enters its fourth year as a team of NoCo Cat 1 and 2 master racers. Retaining long-time sponsors Remote Geo, Matador Mexican Grill, Spex Optical & Foothills Eye Care, and TST Consulting Engineers, the team added UCHealth and Kingdom Building Design Inc. for 2020. Starting this year, the team is proud to partner with a non-profit serving the Northern Colorado community, Book Trust. Book Trust empowers kids from low-income communities to choose and buy their own books. Over the previous two seasons, the team collected more than 100 Colorado road race results with over 20 podium finishes. It also collected wins and podium finishes in stage races and national events outside Colorado, including Tour of the Gila, Valley of the Sun, Tucson Bicycle Classic, and Cache Gran Fondo UCI Qualifier, as well as the Swiss National Championship. Several members represented the team in the USA Cycling Masters National Championship hosted by Colorado Springs. This year, team members will target Tour of the Gila, Steamboat Springs Stage Race, and the Swiss and USA National Championships. Though the team is primarily focused on road racing success, members’ passion for competition extends beyond the tarmac to cyclocross, gravel, and mountain bike events across Colorado and beyond. In preparation for the 2020 race season, expect the team to maintain its strong Northern Colorado presence on group rides, in

grassroots races, and at local cycling events. 2020 Roster: Matt Blakely, Walter Durrer, Dane Emde, Mike Hegdal, Mike Kolczak, Greg Scanlan, and Matt Skrdla
