Yes! THAT Young Gulch Trail up the Poudre Canyon! Burned by the High Park Fire of June, 2012, then washed out in the floods of September, 2013, this poor USFS trail could use your help to get it reopened to the public. If you were unable to attend the recent Overland Volunteer Trail Day at the new Hidden Valley Trail at Devil’s Backbone Open Space, or are just passionate about constructing new trail, check out this opportunity:
Overland Mountain Bike Club is collaborating with Wildlands Restoration Volunteers, the lead partner with the USFS on this trail reconstruction project, to present a Basic Trail Skills Training at the Young Gulch Trail. Scott Gordon of ContourLogic, LLC www.contourlogic.com will be instructing, presenting a mountain biker’s perspective on multiuse trail construction for volunteers. A trails professional at the forefront in his field, he will cover the basics of trail construction and maintenance, drainage concepts and structures, rock structures, trail closure and restoration, and more. Learn new skills or refresh/update your Knowledge, Skills and Abilities!
Signup for the classroom training session Thursday, April 21, 6-9pm only if you can also attend the field training session Saturday, April 23, 8:00am-4:00pm at Young Gulch.
