The Human Performance Clinical/Research Laboratory in the Department of Health and Exercise Science at the Colorado State University is seeking volunteers to participate in studies investigating the influence of sport training specificity on cycling and rowing performance in a low oxygen environment.

We are looking for healthy, endurance trained men or women aged between 18 and 50 years. To participate, you must be an experienced cyclist or rower, and have been cycling or rowing for a minimum of 1 year.

Benefits for study volunteers include the following: measurement of maximal aerobic capacity (VO2max) and body composition (including whole-body bone mineral density and % body fat), and time-trial assessment while breathing normal air, and low oxygen air.

Prizes will be awarded to the fastest men and women (combined rowing and cycling times in normal and low oxygen).

Potential risks for study volunteers – you will perform very intense cycling and rowing exercise, you will breathe low oxygen air.

For more information, please contact the lab via telephone: 970-491-3495 or email: physiology@cahs.colostate.edu
