Fort Collins, CO — Local cyclists and DIY bike mechanics will have the opportunity to score some major deals later this week as the Fort Collins Bike Co-op hosts its annual Yard Sale on Friday, April 26 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

The event, held at the Co-op’s headquarters at 1501 N. College Avenue, will feature steep discounts on a wide range of cycling gear and equipment. Shoppers can expect as-is bikes for half price, a “fill-a-box, donate-what-you-can” section with items like handlebars, brakes, derailleurs, wheels, and frames, and even kids’ bikes for just $1 each.

Organizers say the sale is a great way to encourage bicycle maintenance and reuse, especially for those new to cycling or looking to build or repair bikes affordably. The inventory is composed of donated parts and bikes that have been evaluated and deemed ready for a second life.

“This is a chance for the community to access affordable bike gear while supporting a local nonprofit dedicated to bicycle education and advocacy,” a spokesperson for the Bike Co-op said.

The Co-op notes that retail bikes, higher-end parts, and new items will not be available during the event, and mechanic services will be suspended for the day to accommodate the sale. The shop will also be closed on Sunday, April 27, resuming regular operations on Monday.

The Fort Collins Bike Co-op, a longtime advocate for sustainable transportation and bicycle access in Northern Colorado, uses proceeds from events like this to fund community outreach, education, and bike distribution programs.
