CSP is asking for the public’s help in identifying a driver who hit and killed a bicyclist on North Shields, between Willox and 287, overnight Wednesday.

The hit-and-run crash happened between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday near the 2200 block of North Shields Street about half a mile south of U.S. 287, according to the State Patrol. A man was found dead about 7:30 a.m. Thursday. A bicycle was nearby. The victim’s identity has not yet been released by the Larimer County coroner’s office.

CSP said vehicle parts found at the crash scene lead them to believe the vehicle involved is a gray 2009 or 2010 Toyota Rav4 or a similar SUV. The SUV will have heavy damage to its front right bumper and windshield

Anyone with information on the crash or on a suspect driver is asked to call the State Patrol at 303-239-4501 or 911.

The stretch of road where the crash took place is slated to have six-foot shoulders added by Larimer County in the Spring of 2022.
