Fort Collins, Colorado—April 2, 2014—Fort Collins Bicycle Company (FCBC), parent company to Swobo Bicycles, is proud to announce the launch of Farrier Bicycle Works, a high quality performance bicycle brand for children and small adults. Farrier bicycles will offer the Stayer road bike in 24 inch and 650b wheel sizes. Featuring a high-quality 6061 series aluminum frame and Shimano Claris short-reach STI brake-shift levers, the Farrier Stayer road series will retail for $799 (farrierbicycles.com).

The first off-shoot brand from Swobo, FCBC will sell Farrier to independent bicycle dealers via its exclusive distribution partnership with Hawley Company. “Farrier has been a pet project of mine for years,” says Peter Discoe, President of FCBC. “As my children were growing up, there was a clear absence of options for bicycles that would allow our family to ride together for anything beyond a mile or two. Giving children a quality option that will allow them to keep up and ride along with mom and dad was really important to me.”

“Farrier is yet another great opportunity for Hawley from the Fort Collins Bicycle Company,” adds Ian Cross, Sales Director for Hawley. “When we first saw the lineup it was clear why it was separate from Swobo, as the target customers, retail partners, and intended product focus are completely different. However, we fully believe Farrier is a strong compliment to our range of product offerings and continues to demonstrate the value and versatility of Hawley.”

Farrier Bicycles are currently offered in one color for each size model; Fire Engine Red in the Stayer 650, and Screaming Canary in the Stayer 24. Farrier Bicycle Works are manufactured in China, by ACE Trikes, and are available now.
