4 cyf elbertChris Ellmer, coming at ya with another Colorado High School Mountain Bike League report.

Another weekend, another high school race, another success!  Last weekend your local high school racers made their way to Elbert for the Peaceful Valley Invitational.  Although cold temps and frost greeted us the night before the race, we woke to incredible conditions with perfect temps and sunshine throughout the day.  Given our previous two races with rain, lightning and hail, our racers were stoked to compete in nice weather.

The teams brought their A game and put the hurt on the competition.  We put up six top 10 finishes and 6 top 20 finishes with two of our Varsity boys claiming 1st and 2nd place in the overall points so far for the state!  Congrats to Brannan Fix (1st) and Zach Jensen (2nd) on some major efforts to soak up the points in the Varsity category.

Current standing for our high school teams (out of 26 division 2 teams):

Fort Collins High  – 5th
Rocky Ridge Composite – 8th
Poudre High  –  12th

October 20th is the final race in the four race season, we will be heading to Eagle to test our meddle at the State Championships.  Wish us luck, or better yet, come on up and cheer these young racers on.  Good times and great racing is guaranteed.

Ride on!
