Matador Elite Masters Cycling is a men’s category 1 and 2 road, cyclocross and gravel team.

Mission:

Matador Elite Masters Cycling (formerly, Remote Geo) enters its fifth year as a team of NoCo Cat 1 and 2 master racers. After an uneventful 2020 season marred by a global pandemic, we plan for a “hard reset.” Physically and mentally recharged and ready to compete, team members will target regional stage races, with frequent “tune-up” crits and road races on the BRAC calendar. Though the team is primarily focused on road racing success, members’ passion for competition extends beyond the tarmac to cyclocross, gravel, and mountain bike events across Colorado and beyond. In preparation for the 2021 race season, expect the team to maintain its strong Northern Colorado presence on group rides, in grassroots races, and at local cycling events.

2022 Press Release

Matador Elite Masters Cycling enters its sixth year as a team of Northern Colorado Cat 1 and 2 master racers. The team retains long-time sponsors Remote Geo, Matador Mexican Grill, and TST Consulting Engineers, in addition to CycleBar Fort Collins, and continues its partnership with Book Trust – a non-profit empowering kids from low-income communities to choose and buy their own books.

Last year, the team celebrated 10 podium finishes and anticipates continued success with all members returning for the 2022 season: Matt Blakely, Walter Durrer, Dane Emde, Mike Hegdal, Mike Kolczak, Greg Scanlan, and Craig Workman.

This year, the team will focus on BRAC races in Colorado in preparation for the USAC Masters National Championships. Though the team is primarily focused on road racing success, members’ passion for competition extends beyond the tarmac to cyclocross, gravel, and mountain bike events across Colorado and beyond. In preparation for the 2022 race season, expect the team to maintain its strong NoCo presence on group rides, in grassroots races, and at local cycling events.
