YGR has confirmed that the North South Colorado bikepacking race will not take place in 2026. Event organizer Mark Lendzion confirmed via email that he is no longer organizing the self supported, 600 plus mile event after moving out of state. Efforts to find a new organizer have not been successful.

Lendzion launched the North South Colorado bikepacking race in 2021, modeling it after events like the Colorado Trail Race and the Tour Divide. The route typically departed Fort Collins around the Fourth of July, except for the inaugural year, which started in early September, and finished more than 600 miles later in Trinidad, tracing the eastern side of the Continental Divide.

Participation peaked in 2023 with 55 starters, following 20 in the first year and 39 in 2022. The race saw 24 starters in 2024 and 26 in 2025. Our own Zack Allison took the win in 2024.
