Overland Mountain Bike Association, Northern Colorado and Southern Wyoming’s IMBA chapter, is hiring an Outreach Coordinator. The opening for the full-time permanent position closes on August 31st or when filled.
OMBA’s vision is world-class mountain bike experiences throughout the northern Front Range Region. The Outreach Coordinator will work in pursuit of this vision by working to ensure a strong membership base, to provide effective communication to internal and external audiences, and to help execute high-quality events.

PRIMARY POSITION DUTIES AND GOALS
The Outreach Coordinator must be self-directed and self-motivated to perform the following ongoing tasks of our membership, communications, and outreach programs in coordination with OMBA’s Executive Director & Board of Directors:
Membership Program
Our members provide the platform from which we pursue our mission and are the primary source of funding for this position. We seek to grow our membership base year-over-year.

Attract and retain members to grow our member base.

Work with the Executive Director to establish a robust offering of member benefits.

Communicate regularly with the members to ensure we are representing their interests.

Plan and conduct membership drives in coordination with IMBA and/or independently.

Manage membership database and CRM system.
Communications Program
OMBA relies on a robust communications program to inform our audience of our work, attract members, and recruit volunteers.

Maintain and seek continuous improvement of OMBA’s websites.

Ensure we have an informative, effective and regular monthly or bi-monthly newsletter.

Develop and implement an effective social media and overall communications plan appropriate to the OMBA brand and our widely varied audience.

Recruit, train, and mentor volunteers in the Communications Program.
Community Outreach & Events Program
Effective outreach to our community is critical to provide accurate and updated information regarding the area trails, current and future trail projects, lead social activities, and support partner events as needed.

Foster working relationships, projects and events with our community partner organizations.

Lead and/or assist with various events such as OMBA’s annual Season Kickoff Party, monthly social events, Northern CO MTB Festival, annual Curt Gowdy Campout, Year-End Appreciation Party and other events as needed.
Other Duties

Attend OMBA Board of Directors meetings as needed.

Provide a monthly report of membership numbers and dollars.

Assist with fundraising activities at various levels such as events, sponsorships, raffles/giveaways, and others as needed

Additional duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
-
Proficient, regular user of social media applications, to include but not limited to Facebook and Instagram.

Passion, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and a self-directed entrepreneurial spirit.

Passion for and interest in mountain biking, outdoor recreation, and conservation.

Competent in a variety of office-based software systems (e.g., Google Drive, Docs, Sheets).
-
Creative content design and development experience. Primarily through photos and video.

Graphic design experience and talent.

Experience with CRM and/or membership database systems.

Ability to work outdoors for long periods.
-
Ability to work independently and part of a team.
-
Possess a valid driver’s license.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
-
Creative writing, storytelling and authoring.
-
Event planning experience, especially for groups up to 500 people.

Experience with leading volunteers and volunteer events.

Experience in creating a monthly newsletter.

Experience in web-authoring, design, and editing.
-
Intermediate MTB riding skills including the ability to ride technical or jump trails.
COMPENSATION, TERMS & REQUIREMENTS
-
Base salary commensurate with experience and non-profit industry standards. Board approved pay rate of $22-26/hr. A full-time 40 hours/wk commitment is preferred.

Some travel beyond day-to-day commuting to work sites may be required (reimbursable).

Home based position within Larimer County, Colorado region.

Must be able to work some evenings and weekends.
