peloton3Via Bill McGee- President of Peloton Cycles

It has been a SUPER busy month at Peloton Cycles.  At the end of March we sold the Loveland location, after 21 years of operating there.  That was the store where Robin Torres started it all, and it generated an awesome reputation among cyclists from all over Northern Colorado.  It was sad to lock the doors for the last time, but VERY exciting to be working on the NEW store acquisition, almost simultaneously!

The Harmony Road store was already the largest bike shop in Fort Collins, and we have leveraged that with a second location right here in the Fort.

We really wanted to focus our efforts on the city of Fort Collins, and be able to better serve our friends a little farther north – folks who may not have wanted to come all the way down to Harmony Road.  To make that goal a reality, this week we purchased the Full Cycle location at 2101 South College Avenue!  The owner at Full Cycle decided he wanted to concentrate on his two stores down in Boulder, which gave us a great opportunity to move right into a shop that already had a great following and a great team.  We are very fortunate that almost all of them decided to stay on with us, and we think we will be ready to re-open this Saturday, April 12.  We might still be unpacking, but please come by and say hi to Brad, Mike, Bryan, Des, and the great crew we’ve assembled at the new Peloton Cycles NORTH!

In other news, as our operation got quite a bit bigger with this acquisition, Robin brought in some new blood to the team – Bill McGee.   OK, he’s not really new, but he’s back!   A lot of you will recognize our peloton1new President from when he was here in 2011, and you may also have seen him at New Belgium races, and all over the trails up at Horsetooth!  Robin is not going anywhere, but as Owner and CEO, he will focus on big-picture projects, while Bill will take on the role of President of Peloton Cycles and the running of the operation.  Bill has a big-business background, but managed to maintain the local, friendly atmosphere we are known for when he came to help in 2011.  He plans to work even harder now that he’s back to bring the best he can to the community and the cyclists of Northern Colorado.  Of course we still have Dana Hood as General Manager, and he continues to build and maintain the best and friendliest staff in the business.

We are SO excited about this season, and about what we can now offer for this great cycling city!

The new location is currently open for business.  Over the next few weeks, the staff will be redesigning the space, stocking inventory and building Giants, Niners and Specialized bikes.
