According to signs and documents posted on the doors of the shop, Peloton Cycles has been seized by the Colorado Department of Revenue for delinquent. The new owners, Heather and Matt Robb apparently owe the state of Colorado $36,101. The Robbs purchased Peloton Cycles from Robin Torres in 2018 and moved the shop from the Harmony location to 1981 Jessup Drive that same year. According to an article in The Coloradoan, Peloton cannot open until its owners pay the amount due, and a Department of Revenue spokesperson said the business has 10 days to come up with the money before the department will proceed with an auction of its assets. According to the posted documents, assets will be auctioned off at still to be determined date to rectify the debt.

Customers, a future co-tenant and a current employee spoken with at the shop Tuesday afternoon were surprised by the news. The customer was hoping to get a tuneup on a freshly purchased Niner RLT, the co-tenant is planning to open a spin studio in a few weeks and the employee is still owed a paycheck. Customer bikes were visible in the repair stands and hanging from the shop ceiling.

The shop was supposedly closed on Tuesday for inventory with this message posted to their Facebook page “Hello Friends! Please note that Tuesday, 7/9/19, we will be closed for the day to conduct an inventory. We’ll back to regular hours Wednesday for all your cycling needs. Thank you, and Ride Bikes!”
