A cornerstone of the Fort Collins bicycle community, Molly North, FC Bikes program specialist, is moving on to bigger bike pastures with a new job in Denver.

After more than thee years with FC Bikes helping shape the current landscape of cycling in Fort Collins, North accepted the position of Executive Director of Bike Denver on May 26. North’s last day will be June 7. She will assume her new role in Denver on July 1.

“For me, my time with FC Bikes was not just a job, it was a lifestyle,” North said. “I have gratitude for this supportive community.”

North said she applied for and accepted the job because she felt as if she had achieved her goals in Fort Collins.

In her time with FC Bikes, North was the assistant bike coordinator, interim bicycle coordinator and most recently programs specialist. She helped get $1.6 million in grants, was part of the team that brought the USA Pro Cycling Challenge to Northern Colorado and launched the nationally-recognized Bike Ambassador Program.

Howling Cow Cafe opened on July 1st, 2014, adjacent to Morning Fresh Dairy Farm hq, almost exactly a year after the Bellvue Bean closed down. That was a tough year for cyclists who were used to a mid-ride coffee break while doing the Dairy Loop.
