Anthony Lenz has been part of the Northern Colorado cycling community for nearly two decades, with 17 years in the Fort. He moved up from Centennial, CO, shortly after high school to take business and welding classes at FRCC.  His introduction to the local cycling world came early, landing a job as a mechanic at the original Full Cycle in Old Town with Brad Brown. He later spent time at Niner Bikes.  Nearly three years ago, he and Jason Haney started Caveworks, where he serves as the present.  He’s still active in the racing scene, recently taking second behind Zack Allison in the One Speed Open on Saturday (46×18 on a Ventum GS1 with a Caveworks tensioner).

Lenz rides across disciplines, splitting time between mountain, gravel, and road riding. His current bike lineup reflects that balance, with an even rotation between a Specialized Epic Evo, Ventum GS1, and an Enve Melee depending on the day.

His go-to mountain ride starts from town, linking Maxwell, Shoreline, and Lory State Park, typically including laps on Westridge and Wathen before heading back. On gravel, he prefers routes east of town, often looping back through Lory’s valley trails on drop bars.

While he listens to music regularly, Lenz keeps it off during rides, opting instead for the sound of tires on dirt.

Coffee? Most days start with a pour-over using beans from Harbinger or Lima. On weekends, he slows things down with a manual espresso setup, dialing in grind and extraction by hand.

His music taste reflects a wide range of influences. Early exposure came from his parents, with country artists like Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and Johnny Cash, alongside artists such as the Eagles, Santana, and Tracy Chapman. Over time, that expanded to include hip-hop and metal, shaped by friends and broader exploration. He continues to seek out new music across genres.
