New Years RidesPhoto by Mike WeberIf you absolutely, positively have to get some miles in over the next couple days, you do have a couple MTB group ride options over News Years Eve and New Years Day.

Here are the deets.

New Year’s Eve

Wednesday, 9:00am
 24°F / 0°F Clear
Spring Canyon Park

Time to put 2014 to bed. If it was a great year, celebrate the successes with friends and if it sucked, commiserate with others. Either way, it is more fun on a bike. See the year out with a nice refreshing bike ride and still have plenty of time in the afternoon to work on your resolutions and attend your parties in the evening. Don’t party too hard though, because we have to ride tomorrow to start 2015 off right!
We will meet at the Spring Canyon Park dog park and head out from there. If trails are good, we can loop Pineridge and head up Maxwell. If trails are not as good, we can climb stadium hill and slip and slide down Maxwell. If off road is out, we can do an urban assault loop of the bike paths in town since they are plowed before the roads. See you Wednesday!

New Year’s Day

Thursdayat 12:00pm

Blue Sky Trailhead

You know that one of your resolutions is to ride more in 2015, so why not get a quick start? We’ll give you until noon to recover from the previous night’s festivities and then it will be time to pedal the cobwebs out and get a jump on your 2015 base miles. Double digit temperatures? Who needs them.
Just to make sure we get all of the cobwebs out and start with a bang, we’ll climb Towers to start the year off right. Intel says they have been plowing it, so it may be the only rideable dirt. If conditions warrant, maybe we can find some singletrack to slide down.
