Local mountain bike advocacy group, Overland Mountain Bike, has established and filled a new paid position within their organization. Kenny Bearden has been hired to fill the position of Club Administrator. According to the Overland Board of Directors, Bearden will be tasked with “establishing a more robust financial position to support our mission, and enhancing our member and volunteer development.” YGR will be posting an in depth interview with Kenny Bearden very soon.

Overland Mountain Bike Club is pleased to announce that Kenny Bearden has accepted our newly established Club Administrator position.
This contracted position will focus on moving Overland forward in trail and mountain bike advocacy, establishing a more robust financial position to support our mission, and enhancing our member and volunteer development.
Kenny has been an active member of Overland Mountain Bike Club for several years, serving on our Board of Directors and leading Overland’s Diamond Peaks Mountain Bike Patrol. In these roles, Kenny has focused on outreach and advocacy to promote mountain biking in our community. The Overland Board of Directors look forward to working with Kenny and supporting him in his new role. We believe he has the right credentials and enthusiasm for this, and you can hear it in his statement:
“I am extremely grateful for this opportunity. Many people already know of the good things Overland Mountain Bike Club does in this community…Take-a-Kid-Mountain Biking Day, 40 in the Fort and Stone Temple 8 endurance MTB races, advocacy and outreach events, donating money to 3 different regional high school mountain bike teams, helping build, maintain and recommend sustainable trail features and improvements, and the work of our Patrol group for the past 20 years. Many individuals have put in countless hours, energy and effort for this organization to be where it is today. My goal is to help identify and organize the people and processes to make it even better by identifying and expanding the idea of WHY we do what we do: one is that its a heckuva lot of fun, but second is that we want to help create a world-class network of mountain biking trails in the Northern Colorado and Southern Wyoming region. There are tremendous advancements being made in trail design and MTB access all over the country. When I look at the terrain we have in this region, from Estes Park to Curt Gowdy & Glendo State Parks, and combine it with the passion of our cycling community, it makes me very excited about the opportunities we have!
My professional experience comes from operations management in the commercial finance world. Creating processes to improve operating efficiency, productivity and morale were key functions. I have a degree from Texas A&M University in Wildlife & Fisheries Management. This diverse background gives me a unique perspective and understanding of the relationship between environmental and sustainability issues combined with economic necessities. My love of the outdoors, primarily mountain biking, snow skiing, fly fishing and nature photography, have given me a deep appreciation of the effects outdoor recreation can have on an individual’s life. Having the opportunity to combine all of this and to have an impact on the community as a whole is hugely rewarding to me personally.” – Kenny
