For Immediate release.
FoCo Fondo presents Bite the Bullet Gran Fondo Fort Collins’ first gravel gran fondo.
Bite the Bullet Gran Fondo on August 27th will take riders across Colorado’s best kept secret — the dirt roads of Northern Colorado. Presented by FoCo Fondo, the 7am start will be at New Belgium Brewing’s spacious new outdoor tasting center. Gran Fondos fill the space between sanctioned races and supported group rides, scratching the competitive itch for some, but first and foremost, giving riders the experience of a lifetime.
After a short ride out of town, rider’s will venture into a 100-mile journey on the beautiful rolling dirt roads around Fort Collins. Road conditions vary from pavement, to hard-pack dirt, to rough double track, and everything in between. Riders will have well-appointed aid stations every 30 miles. There will be neutral wheel support, although limited, if you flat or have a major malfunction we’ll get you going or get you back for a beer.
Riders will pass through remote old-time western towns, grasslands, parks and open spaces before making their way back to New Belgium for a festival celebrating cycling and the best riding Fort Collins has to offer. Food and beer tokens will be provided to participants, along with a gift bag. The tap room at New Belgium will be open for business and proceeds from all purchased beers will be donated to a non-profit.
FoCo Fondo is a new company in Fort Collins run by professional cyclist Zachary Allison and Jake Arnold. Zack and Jake wanted to show off the beauty of the region around Fort Collins by taking the roads often overlooked by the general public.
“Fort Collins and Larimer county have amazing roads, rarely traveled by cars,” says Allison. “The dirt roads take you to a number of open spaces with beautiful views of the mountain range, that you don’t get from town.”
Bite the Bullet Gran Fondo is just the start for FoCo Fondo as it plans to bring more great rides and races to Northern Colorado down the road. For more information, visit FoCo Fondo’s Bite the Bullet Gran Fondo Facebook page
