Brannan Fix riding for Colorado Mesa University just rode his Moots PSYCHLO X RSL to a Colligate Division 2 National Championship in Hartford Connecticut. While YGR reviewed his Moots last season, it remained mostly unchanged for the 2016/2017 season.  Updates include, Wickwerks 40t chainring, 12mm TRP fork, and the TRP HYRD cable actuated hydraulic brakes. For the Wednesday morning muddy race, Brannan road Clement PDX inflated to 21 PSI. Brannan will be going for the U23 title on Sunday.

Fort Collins U23 racer, Brannan Fix is having an impressive start the 2015/2016 cyclocross season. His consistent top ten results are a sign that the hard to come-by win is on the horizon. He had this to say when asked about his season thus far  “Very happy with the start of the season, my new team Alpha Bicycle Co.-Vista Subaru is full of great people that take racing very seriously but we still have a great time doing it.” “I’m content with what I’ve achieved so far but I still have a long way to go to achieve my goal for the season which is making the World Champs team in Zolder next January”  I tried to get him to tell me how it felt to be beating riders like Steve Stefko and Gage Hecht, two riders that have historically always been slightly faster than him, but he wouldn’t bite. “I’m just enjoying being a part of the races now as opposed to chasing people all race, it’s cool to have such fast peers this year, it’s really helped me reach a higher level”.  Brannan’s next travel block will send him to Cincinnati for Pan-American Champs, and Louisville. After that it’s CXLA and possibly Jingle Cross.  If all goes well, its off to Europe for Euro Cross Camp during Christmas.

After racing Boo’s for several years, Brannan will be on the Moots Psychlo-X RSL this season. He has two identical race bikes and a training bike. Have a look at his A bike below.
