SCHEELS Sugar Beets Cycling Team p/b Scrimshaw Tattoo

We are excited to announce the formation of a new women’s elite cycling squad in Fort Collins: the SCHEELS Sugar Beets Cycling Team p/b Scrimshaw Tattoo. Our team mission is to empower more women to compete in the sport of cycling and inspire these rad ladies through community events, group rides, and clinics for all cycling disciplines.

In late 2017, we made the decision to group together to form our own independent women’s cycling team with the backing of community-oriented businesses in Northern Colorado. Fort Collins has a tight-knit, vibrant, and growing cycling community, but we found there wasn’t a place for us to develop and thrive as women who want to advance through the racing ranks. We hope to fill that gap with Sugar Beets Cycling Team. We hope to collaborate with local cycling clubs, like Fort Follies and First City Cycling Team to name but two, to help women grow their skills and realize their potential!

The team was founded by Samantha Welter and Jenny Gerow. Celeste Cannon, Bella Oleksy, and Suzie Livingston will also race with them in 2018. The team will compete in road and mountain bike events, both locally and across the United States.

We are pleased to have SCHEELS in Johnstown, Colorado as our title sponsor, with generous support from Scrimshaw Tattoo, Empower Performance Therapy, Whole Family Neurofeedback, Hagman Homes, Leapin’ Lizard Labels, and Rally King Brewery.
