Incycle NoCo is rolling out a new Sunday morning group ride series. The Incycle Grand Prix, a season long, points based competition built around fast road group rides and consistent participation. Starting from the Incycle South store at Harmony and Lemay at 8 a.m., the series runs May through October with 12 events across rotating north and south routes, each featuring sprint, KOM, and rouleur segments that contribute to both individual leaderboards and an overall GC. With a focus on safer roads, simple structure, and a grassroots feel, the series aims to add a competitive edge to the local group ride calendar while keeping it accessible to the broader riding community.

The team at Incycle NoCo is proud to present your premier Sunday group ride series: the Incycle Grand Prix!

The rides will start at 8am from the east parking lot of the Incycle South store on Harmony and Lemay.

The Incycle Grand Prix consists of four competitions: the Sprints Leader, the Rouleur Leader, the KOM Leader, and the Overall Leader (Cumulative points across all three).

Points will be allocated to the top 5 in each segment as 10, 6, 4, 2, and 1 respectively. All points scored go towards the Segment Leaderboard and the Overall Leaderboard (GC).

To score points, you must be in attendance for the entirety of the ride from start to finish and contest all three segments.

There will be two designated routes: the North Route and the South Route. These routes have been designed to heavily utilize roads with ample shoulder space / bike lanes. And minimize riding in heavily driven roads to maximize the safety of us all. Segments are also chosen with zero left hand turns and stop lights so we can be switched on and focused on racing. The North Route will run on the 1st Sunday of each month. The South Route will run on the 3rd Sunday of each month. However, in May the North Route will run on the 2nd Sunday, and the South Route will run on the 4th Sunday to avoid interfering with local races in Denver. Similarly, in July, the South Route will run on the 4th Sunday to avoid interfering with the FoCo Fondo. Each route has three segments in which to score points. The GP’s will run from May 10th to October 18th for a total of 12 Grand Prix.

The official GP dates, which are set and will run rain or shine, are:

  • May 10th & 24th
  • June 7th & 21st
  • July 5th & 26th
  • August 9th & 23rd
  • September 6th & 20th
  • October 4th & 18th

The standings will be updated after every GP for the Sprint Leader, the KOM Leader, the Rouleur Leader, and the Overall Leader.

To start, there will simply be an open women’s category, and an open men’s category. Should participation demand it, we can make more categories that will include male and female Jr. (U-18), Open (18 – 40), and Masters (40+).

To participate, please sign the ride waiver on our site here (Scroll down to “Ride Waiver” after clicking the link):

To participate in the event, it is MANDOTORAY to sign the waiver.

Also, please email Gabriel Gutierrez at ggutierrez@specialized.com with your signed waiver, name, age, and category to be added to the leaderboard.

The leaderboard can be found here

Keep in mind that this is a grassroots event. There will be no course markings, and we’ll be in open traffic. So please follow the rules of the road. Take care of yourself and the group, look both ways at stop lights, and do not take advantage of stop signs and traffic to gain advantages over the group. Let’s ride with the best intentions and all get a good ride in. Cheers!
