lory fire recoveryIn Lory State Park, the Galena Fire in March, 2013 completely burned out ten multi-use wooden bridges critical to resource protection as well as safe, fun travel on several of the Valley Trails.  The Friends of Lory State Park is coordinating efforts to rebuild the bridges and allow these trails to fully reopen for recreational use.  Volunteer groups and individuals are needed for various tasks on June 15, 18, 20 and 21.  Weekday and weekend opportunities available.

Howling Cow Cafe

Howling Cow Cafe opened on July 1st, 2014, adjacent to Morning Fresh Dairy Farm hq, almost exactly a year after the Bellvue Bean closed down. That was a tough year for cyclists who were used to a mid-ride coffee break while doing the Dairy Loop. Lori and Robert Graves, the owners of Morning Fresh, managed to fill the void left by the Bean and then some.
