“Ride for Magnus: Ride for Your Life”

Via The White Line

The death of rising U.S. cycling star Magnus White was as preventable as it was tragic. It’s time to take action. Join us as we call for better laws and improved infrastructure to protect vulnerable road users. Ride with us as the new voice for change. Riders will depart at 10 am at Farrand Field on the CU Boulder Campus, following a slow-roll route along Folsom to Jay Road, and then on to Colorado State Highway 119 (CO 119) with a rolling closure, going past the site where Magnus was killed. The entire westbound lanes of CO 119 will be closed to vehicle traffic, ensuring a safe journey for all participants. Riders will turn around at 63rd and then return to Farrand Field on CU Campus for a rally. This gathering will introduce legislative efforts spearheaded by The White Line and include a strong call to action in support of these initiatives.

The cycling route spans 13.5 miles and features minimal elevation change. Additionally, for those nationwide wishing to join, a virtual ride option will be available. There will be a walking route around the CU Boulder campus, with details to be announced soon.

Ride to the Ride

Some of us are planning to ride to and from the ride and rally.
We plan to leave FRCC at 630 and ride the 45 miles to the start of the memorial ride. Staging starts at 9:30, and the ride starts at 10:00, so that should give us plenty of time. The memorial ride itself is 13 miles and will be followed by a rally. I’m not going to organize the ride back to Fort Collins. I’ll leave that up to smaller groups to work out.
Here’s the route to Boulder.
