The Colorado cycling community is reeling from another death last week. Michael ‘Mike’ McGuinn, a longtime USAC race official, was killed in an automobile crash on I25 near Loveland on Saturday morning. Mike was on his way to work the Frostbite Time Trial near Wellington, as he had done so many times during his roughly 20-year career as a USAC official when the crash happened.

Troopers were already in the area investigating a different crash when Mike’s Toyota RAV4 was involved in a crash with a semi-trailer. According to the Colorado State Patrol, he died at the scene.

Mike leaves behind a wife and two daughters. At the time of this article, a GoFundMe set up to support them had raised just over $13,000.00. Please contribute if you have the means.

Our thoughts are with Mike’s friends and family, especially his wife and daughters.
