Sorry about the lack of original content as of late everyone. Updating the list of NoCo/SoWyo cycling events and rolling out the new YGR Calendar has been taking up most of my time. Thankfully, it was time well spent.
We’ve got over 80 races and rides coming up this spring, summer, and fall (not including the usual weekly training rides). The cycling community in SoWyo continues to impress with the addition of a new gravel ride in the Snowy Range mountains and a 24hr mtb race in Glendo. The Gowdy Grinder, Stone Temple 8, the Laramie Enduro and the Laramie Mountain Bike Series are still going strong too. WY races are listed in brown below. Here in Fort Collins we have our usual list of grassroots racing spanning every Tuesday (and some Thursdays) from the beginning of April until the end of Oct (just think about that for a second). Of course we also have the Tooth or Consequences mtb festival, the Bite the Bullet Grand Fondo, Cross of the North and the Four Seasons of Horsetooth mtb Challenge on the weekends. The list is up to date as of 03/09/2017 but I’m sure I’ll be adding to it and the YGR Calendar all year long. A little birdy has alerted me to a new short-track/cyclo-cross venue that will be hosting events this season, so keep an eye out for those deets too.
The new YGR Calendar is a vast improvement over the old one. It’s now Google based so it’s much easier to add events to your own personal calendar, it’s also easier for me to add new events to (which means I’m more likely to add said events). The new calendar is also going community wide, not only will it host the usual group rides and local races but I’m actively pursuing information on trail days, tours, advocacy meetings, clinics, seminars, film screenings, product releases, bike rodeos…- anything and everything cycling related in NoCo will be listed and easily sorted on the YGR Calendar. It also has a fancy map function, a better homepage module and other things that only I find interesting.
All of the information listed in the “Local Races” menu section above reflects all the race details I have as of today. More details, registration information, flyers, maps, results will be added as soon as I receive them from race promoters.
