This is Ollie Stratton. On August 2nd, 2023, Ollie was struck and killed by Amy Weiss as he was riding his bike near his home in Timnath, Colorado. Ollie should have turned 12 on Dec 5th. Instead of preparing for one of the best days of the year for a 12-year-old, the Stratton family will be spending the week before Christmas enduring the trial of the driver who killed their son.
Weiss is charged with Careless Driving Resulting in Death (Traffic M1) and Tampering with Physical Evidence (M1).
I am asking the cycling community to attend as much of the trial as possible. I have spoken with Clarissa, Ollie’s mom, and her greatest fear is that her little boy has already been forgotten and the courtroom will be empty. We can’t let that happen.
The jury trial begins on December 17th and will last until December 20th at the Larimer County Courthouse in LOVELAND, CO, courtroom L1. It will start each day at 8:30. You can come and go as necessary during the day.
