Send Town Bike Club is pleased to announce the return of its Fall Unicycle Program with its resident unicycle expert, Coach Dylan. This year the program less expensive and requires less of a time commitment.
This program is open to ALL AGES. Yes, even adults. It will be held once a week on Saturdays in November. If you ever wanted to learn how to ride a unicycle, this is the program for you. It’s “geared” towards first-time riders. Registration is live. All the details are below.

This program introduces children and adults to unicycling. The first half of the program focuses on the fundamentals of unicycling — riding, turning, and freemounting.

The second half of the program focuses on refining those skills through fun and engaging activities.

Each week will consist of one 90 minute lesson (Saturday). Students will be expected to practice an average of 1+ hours per day between each lesson.

Equipment to be provided by the participants:

  • Helmet
  • Closed toed shoes appropriate for biking or running
  • Non-baggy shorts or pants
  • Unicycle–Students will need to purchase a unicycle prior to the beginning of class. We recommend a 20” unicycle for children over the age of 11, and a 20” or 24” unicycle for adults. Let us know if you need one. We have a few extra to lend out.
  • Additional equipment suggestions and resources will be provided to all students in a welcome email.

Practice Location

Fossil Creek Park 5821 South Lemay Avenue, Fort Collins, CO 80525.

Meet on the East end of the park, by the roller hockey rink.

The program will meet every Saturday in November at 10 am, weather permitting. If the class needs to be canceled due to inclement weather, we will extend the program by another week (for each cancellation) to make up the lost lesson.

Your Coach:

Dylan Canfield has been riding unicycles for 19 years. His favorite unicycling discipline is mountain unicycling (muni), but he also dabbles in road/distance riding and street riding (imagine doing tricks at the skate park!). You may have seen Dylan riding his unicycle at the CYF cyclocross races or at Lory/Horsetooth trail system. Dylan organized the 2016 & 2017 Colorado Mountain Unicycle Fetivals in Winter Park and Fort Collins, respectively. In 2019, Dylan hosted the North American Unicycle Competition and Convention (NAUCC) in Fort Collins. In addition to serving as the host, Dylan was the Mountain Unicycle Director–selecting the courses for Uphill, Downhill and Cross Country muni competitions. Keep an eye our for Dylan on the local singletrack. His favorite local muni trails are Wathen, Upper Timber and Blue Sky.
