Dr Kelby Bethards of the First City Cycling Team was among first responders when Tom Teesdale collapsed due to a heart attack during RAGBRAI. Bethards, of Fort Collins, started CPR immediately after the internationally renowned frame builder collapsed but was unable to revive him.  63 year old Teesdale was later pronounced dead at Palo Alto County Hospital.

Teesdale of West Branch IA had operated TET Cycles for the past 38 years.  He had built frames for Kona, Gary Fisher, Univega, Jamis, Dean among many others.

Howling Cow Cafe opened on July 1st, 2014, adjacent to Morning Fresh Dairy Farm hq, almost exactly a year after the Bellvue Bean closed down. That was a tough year for cyclists who were used to a mid-ride coffee break while doing the Dairy Loop.
