The Blue Sky Trail trailhead and parking lot on County Road 38E near Horsetooth Reservoir will be temporarily closed Mondays through Thursdays starting February 25th for about three weeks.  The Blue Sky Tail trailhead and parking lot will be reconfigured to increase the number of parking spaces. This project is a part of a comprehensive effort to improve capacity at the Blue Sky trailhead, as well as Horsetooth Mountain Open Space and the Devil’s Backbone Open Space.

Construction activities Mondays through Thursdays will require complete closure of the trailhead.  During this construction period every effort will be made to open the trailhead with some restrictions Fridays through Sundays.

Other parking options to get on the Blue Sky Trail are the Devil’s Backbone Open Space Trailhead outside of Loveland, the Coyote Ridge Natural Area Trailhead off of Taft Hill Road, the Soderberg Open Space Trailhead near Inlet Bay and the Horsetooth Mountain Open Space Trailhead on CR38E.
