The Bicycle Racing Association of Colorado has announced a new Executive Director. Aaron Bouplon will take the place of Chris McGee.
Here is the announcement from the BRAC website.
We are very proud to announce that the BRAC Board of Directors has named Aaron Bouplon as the new Executive Director for the organization. “We have created a very deliberate process to fill this important role. With more than 30 applicants and two rounds of interviews, we are confident that we have hired the right person for the job,” said Clint Bickmore, President of the BRAC Board of Directors. “Our current ED, Chris McGee, will continue through the year, so we have the opportunity for a seamless transition.”
Who is Aaron Bouplon?
Aaron Bouplon, aka “Boups”, grew up in Northern Wisconsin. A competitive hockey player from age six and an elite long distance runner since nine, Aaron found the switch to cycling a nice fit, melding the endurance and mental strength of running with the toughness and mental acuity of hockey. This combination helped him win the 2012 35+ Colorado State Time Trial and the 2012 35+ Wisconsin State Cyclocross Championship (although not a current Wisconsin resident).
Aaron graduated from Dartmouth College with a bachelor’s degree in government in 1995. While at Dartmouth he was selected Academic All-Ivy and won the 1995 New England 5000 Collegiate Championship in track and field.
Most recently Aaron sold his share of the Boulder Running Company, a business that he helped build for the past seventeen years. While there he was, among many other roles, the Advertising Manager and Chief IT Officer.
Currently, the Colorado Cross Classic cyclocross race falls under his direction and he’s assistant director of Schoolyard Cross and Kick-It Cyclocross Time Trial. Aaron also volunteers as a junior cycling coach at the BRAC Junior Cyclocross Camps, a complement to his history of coaching both high school hockey and Team-In-Training marathoners. When not on a bike, Aaron enjoys ice hockey, skate skiing, running, playing bass guitar, fine beer, the Green Bay Packers, the Denver Broncos, and the Colorado Avalanche.
Please welcome Boups to his new role as Executive Director!
