The Frostbite Time Trial is hosted by Team Rio Grande Racing and historically launches the Colorado road racing calendar each year. The course starts at Buckeye Road and the I25 North Frontage Road intersection and heads South until Owl Canyon Road where you’ll perform a U-Turn and return to the Buckeye Road exit. The course is 11.4 miles long, and as the name implies, it’s usually cold and as the photo shows, it’s usually windy.

Much like New Belgium Brewing, the Rio is synonymous with Fort Collins cycling. Patrick McGaughran, the owner of all five Colorado Rios opened the first restaurant here in Fort Collins in 1986. He first sponsored an elite road team in 1999.
