In the lee of last fall’s perfect storm, fortuitous circumstances led to the formation of Fort Collins’ newest cycling team and social club. Seeking a return to grassroots racing as part of the re-launch of its Factory Team, Trek Bicycle found willing partners in Archie Solsky, longtime owner of FoCo’s favorite bike shop–Lee’s Cyclery–and a group of friends committed to training hard, giving back to the community, and having the most fun along the way. Lee’s Cyclery-Trek Factory Racing, one of ten Trek-sponsored teams in the country, features new as well as experienced Senior and Master’s (read “Old”) level racers across several categories and disciplines, including road, mountain, XTERRA, and triathlon. Ambassadors on and professionals off the bike, team members fully embrace the Choice City’s renowned ethic: work hard, play harder, and make your family, friends, and neighbors proud. Volunteerism and mentorship are part of the program, as is the backyard barbeque.
