POSITION TITLE:  Program Assistant   (Hourly)
DEPARTMENT:  FC Moves
LOCATION:  281 OFFICE BLDG
EMPLOYMENT TYPE:  Part-Time Hourly
HOURLY RATE:   $22.00 – 27.00 per hour (based on relevant experience)

SUMMARY:

Organizes, manages logistics, delivers, and evaluates programs related to the mission of FC Moves and messaging, with an emphasis on education, outreach, public information, and public involvement. Incorporates an equity for all approach to program development, implementation, and evaluation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following duties and responsibilities are illustrative of the primary functions of this position and are not intended to be all inclusive.

  • Develop and implement programs to educate community members, customers, and stakeholders about FC Moves and City strategies and programs related to encouraging modal shift away from single occupancy vehicles in pursuit of the City’s Active Modes Plan, City Plan, and Our Climate Future Plan goals.
  • Deliver education programs, activities, and lesson plans that reflect a variety of program delivery models and are relevant to FC Moves’ mission.
  • Utilize audience-appropriate messaging, education programs, materials, and related marketing campaigns to support FC Moves’ mission.
  • Support and conduct public education and outreach to diverse audiences.
  • Prepare and disseminate educational and informational materials.
  • Facilitate programs for adult audiences, including presentations, events, workshops, and business outreach.
  • Support school programs for high school-aged students, including classroom presentations, in support of Safe Routes to Schools education initiatives.
  • Develop educational materials for events and assist with event support including staffing.
  • Represent the department as requested from local to state levels, including facilitating meetings and preparing and delivering professional presentations.
  • Build partnerships with internal and external customers.
  • Use appropriate safety practices in the field and in the classroom.
  • Maintain equipment and inventory and prepare supplies for programs.
  • Compile program data and survey results.
  • Assist with record-keeping and social media management.
  • May work with FC Moves education team interns and/or volunteers.

·       Basic proficiency in bicycle mechanics a plus.

·       Ability to occasionally work nights and weekends.

·       Bike handling skills, ability to lead by example when riding.

  • Spanish language skills preferred.
