Ride Review: Greg Scanlan's 2022 S-Works Crux

Greg's 58cm 2022 Specialized S Works Crux comes in at 17.50 lbs thanks to a little help from Dura Ace and lots of carbon.

The bike was still a little messy from SBT GRVL when I shot it. Greg had a mechanical and had to ride most of the race in the little ring.

The only change from Greg's 2023 Nationals is the switch to 45mm tires. Up from 38s. He runs Orange Seal sealant.

Dura Ace dual sided power meter by the now defunct Stages Power Meters.

One of the cool custom bits added by Greg is the Canyon Flex seatpost. It holds an equally interesting S Works Power 3D printed saddle.

No internal headset cable/hose routing on the Crux...yet.

The tried and true Arundel Mandible Carbon Cage.

Greg runs Dura Ace hydraulic brakes 160 rotor in front and 140 in the rear. If they can slow Greg down, they can slow anyone down.

According to Specialized, the 2022 S Works Crux was the lightest gravel frame in the world weighing in at 725 grams.

One of the few bits of alloy is the K-Edge Garmin mount for his 1080.

His cockpit is made up of 44cm S Works Bar Fly Aero bar and an Enve Aero 120 stem.
