After a year of collaboration between City staff and the consulting firm Logan Simpson, a draft of the City’s updated Strategic Trails Plan (STP) is now available for public review. The community is encouraged to weigh in on the plan, which will serve as a roadmap for the future of the city’s paved trail system.
The STP outlines a functional framework for the planning, design, maintenance, and preservation of the trail network, aiming to ensure the system continues to meet the needs of the community as it grows.
Key Goals of the Strategic Trails Plan Include:
-
Evaluating whether the current paved trail system meets community needs, while identifying challenges and opportunities for improvement.
-
Establishing a shared vision for the system’s expansion to support future growth.
-
Promoting transparency in how trail projects are funded, planned, designed, constructed, and maintained.
-
Developing new policies to enhance both current and future trail infrastructure.
The draft plan is now available online for public review. Residents are invited to provide their feedback ahead of the plan’s finalization this summer.
