This week we welcome Mick McDill DDS to the YGR studios in here beautiful and historic Fort Collins, Colorado. Mick is a husband, father of two boys, a dentist at Alpine Dental Health and races for NCGR. He’s also affectionately known as the Vanilla Gorilla. He listens to his 10 Track selection when he’s driving to trailheads and races with his favorite bike, a 2014 Niner JET. ” My JET is the perfect mix of climbing efficiency and downhill rowdiness.” And where is his favorite trail you ask? Well, it goes a little something like this “My favorite ride is a loop that I do every year in Summit County. It starts in Keystone, goes to Breck, down nearly to Frisco, then back over to Keystone. It’s just under fifty miles with 6500’ of vertical and only about ½ a mile of pavement. I usually do this ride the morning before Baconfest in Keystone too, so that certainly adds to its status.”

Fort Collins cycling and New Belgium Brewing go hand in hand. The idea for the iconic Fat Tire brand was born during a bike trip through Belgium in 1988. In 1991 the first beers were brewed in the basement of a home on Mountain Street. The brand has been supporting the local scene for decades.
