The NoCo Gravel Stage Race is a grassroots initiative to help you explore new routes in Northern Colorado and connect with like-minded gravel riders in our community.

Participation in any stage is voluntary and there are no entry fees or registration. Your goal is to complete the designated Strava segment within the month that it is active.

Please always remember that bike riding is inherently dangerous. All routes are open to traffic, so obey the rules of the road. Ultimately, you are responsible for your own comfort zone, safety, and well-being while riding.

The Waiver

The Rules

  • Participation in any stage is voluntary and there are no entry fees or registration.
  • There are 5 “Stages” (Strava segments) to complete – starting in April and ending in August.
  • Stages range from 22 to 42 miles.
  • Your goal is to complete the designated Strava segment within the month that it is active.
  • You can ride the segment as many times as you would like within that month. Your fastest time will be recorded through Strava’s leaderboards.
  • If you miss out on completing a stage during the designated month, you may make it up, and a 5% time penalty may be assessed; for example, if a stage takes you 3 hours (180 minutes) to complete, up to an additional 9 minutes may be added to your time.
    • Make up stages must be submitted to the Strava group for consideration.
    • This is a grassroots event with the goal of having fun and allowing as many people as possible to participate in a way that works for them and their schedule.
    • However, the spirit of this event is to complete each stage during the appropriate month. Doing things with little to no personal reward, in the intended style, and with the utmost ethos is the spirit of gravel.
    • As this race ends at the end of August, the August stage cannot be made up.
  • If you make a wrong turn, or Strava doesn’t recognize your segment time for some reason, please post it to the Strava group for review prior to the end of the month, and we will work together to get an appropriate time entered for you for the applicable stage.
  • Accolades will be given to the fastest male, female, and nonbinary/gender expansive participants each month.
  • At the end of August, the riders with the lowest cumulative time across all five segments will also be recognized.
  • Please always remember that bike riding is inherently dangerous. All routes are open to traffic, so obey the rules of the road and be good ambassadors for all cyclists.
  • Ultimately, you are responsible for your own comfort zone, safety, and well-being while riding.
  • This is all for fun! Yes, some folks will be trying to go fast, but most will just be checking off the stages to complete. Enjoy it and be nice to everyone!
